Interesting NY Times Take on Auditory Processing Problems

Gee...a big feel-good article about learning and auditory processing problems.  Very confusing to me after the treatment the Times gave Vt.  I guess we need a celebrity to help us get the attention we need.

Amen, Rob. We keep referring to this as "The Oprah Breakthrough". Clearly the debate about VT has much less to do with the merits of the issue, as CAP has far less credible evidence than VT. The principal difference is that auditory processing advocates don't have ENTs who feel threatened by them in the same manner in which we have OMDs.
Rob,
Thanks for brining attention to this NY Times article. I find it interesting how the author of this article chose a much more postive sounding (no pun intended) title versus "Concocting a Cure" that was used several weeks ago in the NY Times featuring vision therapy.

Also the article describes how the treatment is intended to train the brain. Again, another clear distinction. After all, we all know that vision therapy is retraining the visual brain, however, it is all too often lumped into an "eye excercise" model when described in the media. Eye excercise is not logical with reading, but training the visual brain absolutely is! With that in mind can we all see the difference?
