Apps 4 Vision Development

Many parents and patients have asked if we can suggest "Apps" that can be used to improve visual skills or enhance visual development.  We are looking for your contributions and suggestions to add to the list. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the apps list!  Unfortunately, I have a Kindle Fire and so can't get the apple apps.  Since I can't be the only one with this problem, I have done a little poking around and found a good one offered through amazon that can be used with red/cyan or magenta/green glasses: Speedx 3D.  I'll look around some more and try to make a list of my own.

Thanks Cecilia for posting the start of this project. I hope that others in this virtual community will help to expand this list by posting as Dr. Dan Press has below any apps that they find would be helpful to a patient in vision therapy.  In addition there may be apps that can help us as doctors and therapist communicate with each other and with our referral sources. I look forward to great things to come....Carole

This is a list of Apps that still need to be catagorized by visual skills. We are confident that many of these Apps are appropriate but would like to confirm it first with a doc! When you make a suggestion, it'll be great if you can categorized it into one of the visual skills listed, the level of difficulty and age! This will allow us to update more efficiently! Thanks!!!

Simon classic!  It's free and is great for visual/auditory sequential memory.

I'm also interested in Apps that can be used to improve communications to my professional referral sources. For example, I have found that with the iPhone it is easy to take pics of patients in therapy and simply email or message to the referring doctor. It's a great way to keep them informed. Of course we get permission from the patient and parent first. I'm also using the same concept to email the patient helpful Blog posts about topics that can help communicate to the patient about their condition. For example, here is one I use frequently:
