I found sovoto.com through following squintyjosh's blog. Someone asked a question about if there was a forum to discuss strabismus related issues and another person commented back with sovoto.com. After searching through the site and finding your strabismus patients group i immediately decided to join the group to be able to discuss my personal strabismus problem and of course help others with theirs as much as I can.
I finally got around to reading your post on BRAO. I have to say that seems like an incredible task you have ahead of you but i truly believe with patients and practice(Which is what VT is all about) that you can achieve your vision goals or atleast improve them significantly.
Paul Chou said… Hi Lynda,
I am an adult vision theraphy patient, and I was referred to this site by Dr. Carole Hong. I have been a VT patient for about half a year at Dr. Hong's practice, and I am trying to improve my stereo vision and esotropia. I was diagnosed with anamolous retinal correspondence (ARC) and my understanding is that my prognosis is fairly poor with regard being able to progress. Thus far, progress has been slow, but there has been a little improvement. I was hoping to join the forum, learn/commiserate with other adult patients, and learn about what others are doing and experiencing.

When I felt sick, I patched my bad eye, and just used my everyday normal eye. But like I said, it was only when I was driving .
Anyway, you have a good attitude! It's tolerable nausea, since you know exactly what caused it.
Josh Behan said… Hi Lynda,
Oh yes, I remember the motion sickness. It mostly happened when I drove or rode in a car, although one time I got it while typing on the laptop. My vision therapy place is an hour away from my house, and one Friday I came very close to throwing up in the VT room. The same thing happened during a family get together at my cousins house. I spent the night burping and feeling weird while everyone else ate dinner.
What helped me was to patch one of my eyes while driving, or during other activities that made me feel sick. I think it was the switching/rivalry between the eyes that was making me sick. Eating ginger (raw, candied, tea, whatever) may help, too. It helps with motion sickness even better than medication in some instances. I didn't really get to try it out with vision therapy sickness, though.
It's gone away now, though, so I think it should only be a temporary thing. And it means that your brain is reacting in some way to the vision therapy. So it's kind of a good thing! =)
