Gee...a big feel-good article about learning and auditory processing problems.  Very confusing to me after the treatment the Times gave Vt.  I guess we need a celebrity to help us get the attention…Continue

Infant vision and development

Interesting article in Sci American called "how babies think."  It shows the results of experiments that reveal that babies have much more advanced reasoning and problem solving skills than previously thought.  Interesting that almost all the experiments required VISUAL problem solving.  Gesell and Streff were right - infants are born much more ready to do things on a visual basis than most scientists give them credit for and vision is dominant.See More

Texting and Vision Therapy

You just never know what will make your teen patients happy.  Yesterday I did a VT progress evaluation on a 17 year old boy.  He came in as a non-reader and now reads elementary level material.  What he is most happy about is that he can now text with his friends!  Fitting in is important when you are a teenager and texting is another activity that we can help our patients with.  See More

She thinks this will be another fun vision test and you show her and her mother that she can in fact see, but does perceive which eye is doing the seeing. I think this is better than dissociation because it is more natural (well kinda) and it creates a bit of mystery when they have to see with the red-green. Another good one to add to your next lecture!
