Profile Information

Occupation
Integrated Vision Therapist, Educator, Researcher, Keynote Presenter and Artist
About
Former clinically based Vision Therapy Optometrist, and Professor in Vision Therapy at University of Houston and Pacific University. Practitioner of the American Holistic Medical Association, and Board Member of the International Professional Wellness Association. Out of my deep personal experience with strabismus, I have developed a new paradigm for vision therapy, called integrated vision therapy. The latest application of this technology is the EyeCode®, the new upgrade of eye medicine. (www.eyecode.info) This could become a new paradigm of vision care in the future.

Now it is possible to get to the root cause of all eye problems. It is just a matter of perception. Visit my websites and read my papers and books. You won't be sorry you did. It opens up a whole new way of of expanding vision therapy.

I am available for Keynote presentations, conferences, professional trainings and individual Skype coaching for vision therapists and Optometrists who wish to incorporate this integrated form of vision therapy into their practise. Join the group Integrated Vision Therapy to find out more. Also, my blog and the FREE information and network platform called EyeCode® info.

Hope to meet you soon.

Eye Speaks

This collage speaks about the inter connectedness of information we measure in the eye. The visual findings represent a print out of the deepest perceptual nature of the human being. This is the real vision therapy. What I call integrated vision therapy. Integrating the visual findings with the life story of the person. This steps beyond the limited medical view. Fix the problem! Vision is a life process that, like nature, is constantly evolving.

This photo was published on the cover of the Optometry and Vision Development Journal.

What directs our VISION?

"What makes you see through your eyes?

Is it your attentiveness?  Does your brain direct the show?

Looking and seeing deeply is an attribute of Consciousness.

Therefore, it is Consciousness that is needed to explain

the Science of  VISION. It is our consciousness that defines

our way of perceiving.

The joke is, Science has yet to explain…

Fusion training with a twist

I use coloured photographs on the iPad for training fusion as a way to engage the patient more on an emotional level. When they perceive depth, I invite them to talk about the places in their life where they wish to have more depth and fulfilment.  I first published the photos in my book Conscious Seeing  The…

"Medicine’s Great Divide—The View from the Alternative Side" A view by Deepak Chopra M.D.

Having followed Dr. Chopra's views over the years, perhaps in this article, that was published in the Virtual Mentor of the AMA., there is a message for Optometric Vision Therapy.

Is it possible that the Optometric Vision Therapy has the space and time to incorporate a broader perspective of looking at the whole person in a modern way?

What is your impression? Any comments?…

What does the Kaplan EyeCode® bring to Optometric Vision Therapy?

Optometric colleagues ask me why did I embark on holistic approaches to vision therapy?  Is alternative and complementary medicine really part of Optometry, or is this barking up the wrong tree?

My response is most times non-political. My ultimate vision is for my patient. Deliver the most helpful and integrated program of vision therapy that gets to the very cause of their visual discomfort. At first, I used techniques, and methods to accomplish this. It…
