Member Approvals

Dear Sovoto Members,

As of today we will be trying a new experiment and approving our members before joining. Unfortunately, this is due to an overwhelming amount of spammers joining the network.

Spam

Dear fellow Sovoto members,

Over the past week or so, you may have noticed several spam offenders on the site. They are removed as quickly as possible and blocked from the network, however, some still get through. Please be assured, that further steps are be taken to block the efforts of spammers.

Sovoto Updates. June 5, 2009

To make Sovoto more effective and easy to use, we will be making updates and changes from time to time. Don't worry though, if anything major changes, you will always be notified through a blog post.

The most recent update has been made to the main menu that runs along the top of the site. Discussion forums, Photos, Videos, Blogs and Events are now subheads under the Resources tab.

Email Notifications

With a simple adjustment to your settings, you can quickly and easily controls e-mail notifications such as friend requests, messages, comments and group updates.

On the upper right side of your profile, click "Settings." Select "E-mail" from the Menu on the left. You will see a variety of options including the following:

Privacy Settings

Did you know that you can change your privacy settings? Not only can you limit who is able to see your profile, view your photos and videos, but also who is able to comment and post on your profile. In addition, you can control the activity you would like to broadcast to the "LATEST ACTIVITY" feed on the main page and set up your profile so that comments must be approved by you before they post to your page.

Now upload videos directly to Sovoto!

Hello! Wanted to share great news that you can now upload videos directly on to Sovoto, as opposed to uploading using YouTube or Vimeo code.

Here is how to do it:

1. Navigate to your profile page

2. On the left-hand column navigation click "videos"

3. Immediately on screen you are prompted to "click to add videos." Follow the remaining on screen instructions.

Please note:

You can add up to 30 videos at a time, and each video may be up to 100MB in size. We support videos in the .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .avi, .wmv, .3gp, and .3g2 file formats.

If you would like to add a video to your status, please select video. Then copy and paste your Sovoto video link into the status bar.
