"What makes you see through your eyes?

Is it your attentiveness?  Does your brain direct the show?

Looking and seeing deeply is an attribute of Consciousness.

Therefore, it is Consciousness that is needed to explain

the Science of  VISION. It is our consciousness that defines

our way of perceiving.

The joke is, Science has yet to explain Consciousness."

I am trying to find that story you posted about horses.  It is tough when you have a vision issue to find stuff.

Thanks Lee for reminding me of this important work. I have tracked down the research of Hameroff and colleagues. He asks: "Does consciousness arise out of the pink meat (brain)? I say, could it be the other way around? Each vastly complicated neurone has some intelligence or processing capacity, that he says is related to consciousness (Perhaps local awareness).  This awareness may not actually be consciousness itself, but a representation.  Some very interesting speculations, I must say.  From a vision therapy point of view, I find it helpful to bring the broader aspect of quantum and spiritual level of consciousness integrated into philosophy and test that through the visual experiences the patient makes. Happy holidays.

There has been some research pointing to consciousness arising from microtubules within neurons, as crazy as that may sound.
